So, have you heard the tea about Black Myth Wukong?
This super cool game, Black Myth Wukong, is making waves!
The developers, Game Science, just confirmed that it’ll hit Xbox Series X and S after the PlayStation 5 and PC versions.
This announcement followed a bit of drama at the Summer Game Fest 2024 where the new trailer dropped without mentioning Xbox.
Originally, Game Science had promised an August 20, 2024 release date for PS5, Xbox Series X and S, and PC during the Game Awards 2023.
But now, it looks like Xbox users will have to wait a bit longer.
The game is still launching on August 20 for PS5 and PC (via Steam and the Epic Games Store).
Game Science explained in a FAQ that they’re still working on optimizing the Xbox version to make sure it’s up to their standards.
They apologized to Xbox fans and promised to announce a new release date as soon as possible.
So, hang tight if you’re an Xbox player!
But hold up, there’s more to this story.
Recently, there’s been a big controversy surrounding the studio.
IGN reported that the founders and some developers at Game Science have made a bunch of sexist comments over the past decade.
This has caused a lot of backlash, especially from women and their allies in the Chinese gaming community, who find these remarks really offensive.
Because of this, discussions and communities around Black Myth Wukong have turned into battlegrounds.
On one side, there are women demanding apologies and accountability, and on the other, there are people defending Game Science with some pretty nasty replies.
So, while the game itself looks like an epic adventure, there’s definitely some drama behind the scenes.
Let’s hope they sort everything out and that everyone can enjoy the game without all this negativity hanging over it
